NBA star LeBron James has agreed to join Los Angeles Lakers on a four-year contract for $154million’ from Cleveland Cavaliers. 

The announcement was made yesterday on Twitter by his agency Klutch Sports Group.

The move comes after he became a free agent last week and turning down his $35.6 million contract option for next season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in 2003.

Shortly after the announcement was made, the 33-year-old took to Instagram to bid farewell to his hometown Cavaliers.

‘Thank you Northeast Ohio for an incredible 4 seasons. This will always be home.’

James who’s a four-time NBA MVP, three-time NBA finals MVP, 14-time NBA All Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist will become the first player in NBA history to lead a postseason in scoring and switch teams the following offseason, according to reports.

Former Laker star Kobe Bryant congratulated James via Twitter: “Welcome to the family…well done!!!” he wrote. Bryant spent the entirety of his 20-year basketball career with the Lakers.
