Man turns himself in to police after he’s accused of using dog to lure girls under 13 into his apartment

A man who used his dog to lure three young girls into a his apartment turned himself in on Tuesday, June 1, after his name and photo were made public, police have revealed.


After police distributed his name and picture on Monday night, Brandon Rodriguez reached out to let officers know where he was located.

Police say Brandon Rodriguez, 25, targeted a 13-year-old girl on May 24, near Osborn St. and Pitkin Ave. in Brownsville, asking the youngster to take a photo of him with his dog.


He then led the girl into an apartment building, where he fondled her and blocked her from leaving by taking her backpack and positioning one of his dogs near the building entrance.

The next morning, May 25, Rodriguez tried the same act with two more girls, ages 12 and 11. But when he tried to lead them into a nearby building, they got scared and ran off, police say.


Police charged Rodriguez with acting in a manner injurious to a child and unlawful imprisonment.


The investigation continues.
