Coronation Street actor Alex Bain welcomes a child just 1 week after turning 17

Alex Bain, who just turned 17, and his girlfriend Levi Shelby, 16, have welcomed a daughter.

The young couple welcomed their daughter on Sunday Dec 2nd and have now named her Lydia-Rose. Shelby shared a photo of their new daughter on Facebook with heart emojis and also changed her Facebook bio to include her daughter’s name and date of birth.

A source told The Sun: “They are absolutely over the moon — it’s the greatest gift they could have hoped for this Christmas.”

“I love her,” Levi Shelby commented after Facebook users congratulated her on the birth of her daughter.

Alex Bain plays troubled teen Simon Barlow on the ITV soap, Coronation Street. He and Shelby have been dating since April 2017 even though they attend different schools.

The teenage couple had been plagued with splitting rumours but Alex took to Facebook at the time to deny it, writing:

I’m still with my girlfriend, and can’t wait to have my own little family!

Meanwhile, an insider told The Sun that while the teenage couple went through a rough patch, they are stronger than ever.

A source said:

They’ve been through a bad patch but are now stronger than ever and so excited to meet their baby.

It feels even more real now they’ve got a name. They just want to shout it from the rooftops.
