Dog invades primary school, bites nursery pupil to death in Rivers

A nursery school pupil, David Emmanuel, has died after a straying dog invaded his school and attacked the pupils in Rumuagholu in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. According to reports, the owner of the dog is out of the country but left the dog in the care of his security guard.

The dog wandered out of the building and stormed the school which was closeby and had no fence. As the pupils ran to safety, the dog pounced on Emmanuel and bit him. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor. Another student also sustained serious injury during the attack.

Angry residents of the area stoned the dog to death. 

Confirming the incident, the spokesperosn of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, said the matter is being investigated.
