Kano State Government reacts after AirPeace Pilot stopped passengers from disembarking from a flight after one of them began vomiting

The Kano state government has denied claims that the first case of COVID-19 has been recorded in the state.

Earlier today, a pilot with Airpeace refused disembarking passengers from a flight  from Lagos to Kano state this morning after one of the passengers began vomitting.  This caused many to panic as they feared the passenger had Coronavirus.

Reacting to the video, Salihu Yakasai, the Director General, Media and Communications for Kano State Government, said the passenger was tested and discovered to have Malaria and not Coronavirus.
