NFL player Terrelle Pryor in critical condition after being stabbed during a dispute with a woman

NFL player Terrelle Pryor is reportedly in a critical condition after he was stabbed during a dispute on Saturday (Nov.30) in Pittsburgh.

Pryor, who played quarterback at Ohio State was rushed to Pittsburgh’s Mercy Hospital around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, after he was stabbed by a woman during an altercation in an apartment in the city’s north side, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police said.

The suspect, Shalaya Briston, 24, has been charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault, while Pryor, 30, faces a charge of simple assault.

The two suspects are “believed to be mutual combatants in this incident,” police said.

According to the arrest complaints for Briston and Pryor, the two jointly hold a lease on an apartment in the Heinz Loft complex. A witness also told police that Briston and Pryor have been dating for about a year, according to the complaint.

Three women, including Briston,drovePryor to the hospital, the police report said. Investigators found a trail of blood from the apartment to a vehicle registered in Pryor’s name, the report said. A woman also sustained injuries in the dispute, police said.

“The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police understands there is a heightened level of interest in this case, but Police will not be conducting interviews or holding a news conference at this time,” the statement said.

The wide receiver who is currently a free agent played for the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, according to NFL.com.
