Nigerians react after Garba Shehu questioned why the Nigerian media are more focused on Coronavirus than on malaria that kills “822 everyday in Nigeria”

Garba Shehu took to social media to tackle Nigerian media over the massive attention they have given the Coronavirus index case in Nigeria.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, wondered why the media have not given the same attention to reports of ”822 Nigerians who die daily due to Malaria.”

”This morning’s newspapers, all of them have Coronavirus as the lead, cover story.

When will they bring the spotlight to bear on 822 who are killed by malaria everyday in Nigeria?” he wrote

Nigerians are however reacting to his post with many pointing out that it is a shame if Garba  Shehu’s claim that over 800 citizens are dying of malaria on a daily basis, is true.
