Police parade 13 suspects over kidnap of Buhari’s in-law and demand of $30m

13 suspects have been paraded by the police over the kidnap of President Buhari’s in-law, Alhaji Musa Umar Daura, the Magajin Garin Daura.
 

The suspects were paraded after being arrested by Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and the Special Tactical Squad (STS) under operation Puff Adder, were identified as Aminu Saleh, Yusuf Dahiru, Abdullah Mohammed, Bilal Yusuf, Sarfilu Abdu, Dahiru Musa, Tukur Bukar, Muhammed Saidu, Abubakar Adamu, Mustapha Zakariyya, Ibrahim Mohammed and Bako Mustapha.

The spokesman of the Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Frank Mba, said the suspects demanded for a ransom of $30m for the release of the district head, but no money was paid to them before his rescue. He further revealed that one of the suspects is from Niger Republic. 

Nine AK-47 rifles, six assorted gun, 383 round of ammunition of different calibre, military-grade hand grenades and chemicals for making improvised explosive devices were recovered from the suspects
