The president explained that he is seeking re-election for the purpose salvaging the country from thieving Nigerians – He also declared that his administration is ready to arrest all looters of the treasury irrespective of their societal standing President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, April 26, during a two-day working visit to Bauchi state elaborated on his intention to recontest in 2019 general elections. The president who will recontest as the candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) while addressing a crowd at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, explained that salvaging the country from thieving Nigerians was his main reason of seeking re-election While expressing dismay at the rate in which Nigeria’s money was stolen by unpatriotic citizens, Buhari declared that his administration is ready to arrest all looters of the treasury irrespective of their societal standing, Tribune reports. Buhari also commissioned some projects in the state. Some of these projects are: Township roads and referral hospital constructed and equipped by the Nigerian Air Force at the Bauchi Special Air Force Command Base, agricultural ox-plough for peasant farmers and mechanized agriculture to boost rice farming for food security in the country. Meanwhile, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Bauchi state governor, in his reaction commended President Buhari for banning importation of rice, noting that 80 per cent of the people in his state are farmers.
