Wanted ex-pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina says in new video ‘I am not a thief, N300m is stolen everyday and I have documents to prove this’

A video making the rounds on social media shows former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension, Abdulrasheed Maina, addressing allegations of financial impropriety leveled against him. The former pension boss was dismissed from office in 2013 during the Goodluck Jonathan administration after he was indicted in a  N2.1 billion fraud. Maina evaded arrest and invitation by the EFCC and was afterward declared wanted by INTERPOL and EFCC.

Two weeks ago, news broke that Maina had been reinstated into the civil service as a director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There was a public outcry and President Buhari immediately ordered that he be sacked and is also investigating the circumstances surrounding his reinstatement and promotion.

In this video making the rounds, Maina denies been a thief and he also made fresh allegations. He also spoke on why he his on the run. It is however not certain whether the video was done recently or in the past. Watch the video below…
