Mary J. Blige’s ex-husband Kendu seeks to double his spousal support
Singer Mary J. Blige’s estranged husband Kendu Isaacs has claimed he was ‘hospitalized’ because of the stress of their divorce.
According to court documents published on The Blast, Kendu said he’s ‘experienced physical manifestations of stress and emotional distress from this matter, which has caused him to become hospitalized.’
In the statement to the court, Issacs also said it has been financially hard for him since he’s “unemployable,” and paying his rent has become “impossible,” because without Blige he would be “destitute.”
He has been seeking for an increase in his spousal support from the $30,000 he gets now to a whopping $65,000/month. But a judge has since turned down his efforts to get an increase.
The singer who filed for divorce in july 2016 after 13 years of marraige, following the accusations against Isaacs that he had cheated on her with her one-time protege, the singer Starshell (whose real name is LaNeah Menzies), will go on trial alongside her estrange husband in March.
