They were, however, taken by surprise when Twice As Tall was released and it earned him another Grammy nomination. With the feature of foreign artistes like Stormzy and Chris Martin, GQ said, “Burna Boy’s global sound somehow got even more universally enjoyable, slickly blending Afrobeat and dancehall rhythms, R&B sensibilities, hip-hop flows, and reggae’s passion into a singular sound. And while African Giant was a triumphant celebration, Twice As Tall served as Burna Boy’s manifesto…” Meanwhile, Wizkid’s album was described as his best yet. “… combining his global vision with a focus on Yoruba, Afro-Latin, and Afrobeats percussion that, as the name Made In Lagos asserts, makes the record feel like a real homecoming.
