Woman who used to self-harm shares photo of self-inflicted scars as she celebrates being clean for 2 months

A Nigerian woman who used to self-harm is celebrating two months of being clean and she took to Twitter to share photos of the scars she inflicted on herself.

The photos show certain words like rape, pain, death, hate, kill, sorrow, and more carved into her skin.

Sharing the photos, she wrote: “TRIGGER WARNING  I was two months clean yesterday. I just want to appreciate how far I’ve come. I acknowledge this as a step to remaining clean.”

Her story prompted an outpouring of support from Twitter users.
